San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora on Monday said the opening of the Greenhills – West Crame connector road is expected to ease vehicular traffic in the city.

The new connector road is located near Eisenhower St. in Barangay Greenhills near Club Filipino, formerly a dead-end street.

The road connects a portion of Barangay Greenhills and 3rd St. to Barangay West Crame on the Boni Serrano exit, behind Camp Crame.

“Makatutulong ang pagbubukas ng nasabing lansangan upang maibsan ang mabigat na daloy ng trapiko sa lungsod,” he said in an interview.

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chair Romando Artes said the road would also serve as a ‘Mabuhay lane’ or a road that will serve as an alternate route to Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA).

He emphasized that the Greenhills – West Crame connector road will be a ‘no parking zone’ and that San Juan City’s wheel-clamping ordinance will be strictly enforced to ensure smooth traffic flow.

During the event, Zamora also led the unveiling of the Wilson e-trike system, which aims to serve as an alternative and eco-friendly public transport system.
