Coast Guard apprehends UCPB personnel for carrying undeclared money in CDO

 

Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao (CGDNM) apprehended four persons of UCPB Velez Branch for carrying huge amount of undeclared money in Cagayan De Oro last June 25.

Coast Guard Station Cagayan De Oro (CGS CDO) personnel together with Special Operations Unit-Northern Mindanao (SOU-NM) and K9-NM personnel intercepted four persons carrying four boxes of money while entering at the Baggage X-Ray Machine at Macabalan Port purportedly bound for Cebu onboard passenger vessel “Trans-Asia 9”.

Subject persons were currently held for interrogation at Headquarters CGDNM for the unusual transport of money.

Said interrogation was spearheaded by the City Fiscal’s Office and witnessed by CAPT LEOVIGILDO G PANOPIO PCG, Commander, CGDNM, CDR HOSTILLO E CORNELIO PCG, Deputy Commander, CGDNM, members of PCG Legal Service headed by CDR LISA BELLE M VILLANUEVA PCG and CAPT SAMICHAEL NOSTRADAMUS U REGUAL, Judge Advocate General Service (JAGS) of Philippine Army.

The suspects are presently under the custody of CGS CDO while waiting for the filing of appropriate charges against the apprehended persons, upon the completion of the accounting of the money, at the Provincial Prosecutor Office of CDO. ###coastguardph
