Zamboangueña bags 2018 Ganda Pulis crown

MANILA — A 24-year old policewoman is the Philippine National Police (PNP)’s new advocate of its campaign against illegal drugs, radicalization and women’s issues.

PO1 Madonna Gay C. Cajocon, assigned at the Regional Mobile Force Batallion (RMFB) of the Police Regional Office 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula), was crowned 2018 Ganda Pulis during the pageant’s coronation ceremony in Camp Crame on Monday night.

Cajocon bested 25 other beauties from the PNP’s provincial offices, units and districts.

Now on its second year, the pageant is a program of the PNP Police Community Relations (PCR) unit which seeks to secure communities with healthier interactions with the police.

Cajocon takes over the crown of the first Ganda Pulis winner (2017) Leyteña P01 Arla Ray Paciencia of Police Regional Office 8.

“As a police woman I will take efforts to influence everybody towards peace building , counterradicalitization against terrorism,” Cajocon, a former elected Sangguniang Kabataan chairman of Silucap, Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte said.

Aside from Cajocon , other winners were PO2 May Shell Oro (PRO Northern Mindanao) who won the Ms. Maka-Diyos award, PO1 Cris Pastores (PRO ARMM) who was adjudged Ms. Makatao, PO1 Elymor Chrysma Caberto (PRO Cordillera), Ms. Makabayan and PO1 Anne Jerica Buenafe (PRO Central Luzon) who won the Ms. Makakalikasan award. (Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
