1, 442 Calabarzon cops get promotions

CAMP VICENTE LIM – Some 1,442 personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Region 4A have been promoted a notch higher and took their oath of office during formal rites in this camp on Monday.

The personnel are from the Police Regional Office (PRO4A) in Calabarzon region comprising the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.

The newly promoted officers for the first half of 2017 include 13 Police Chief Inspectors (PCI); 41 Police Senior Inspectors (PSI); 20 Police Inspectors (PI); 24 Senior Police Officers 4 (SPO4); 481 Senior Police Officers 3 (SPO3); 183 Senior Police Officers 2 (SPO2); 488 Senior Police Officers 1 (SPO1); 76 Police Officers 3 (PO3); and 116 Police Officers 2 (PO2).

PRO4A Regional Director Chief Supt.  Ma O. Ranada Aplasca said, “this promotion was based on merit and fitness.”

He also underscored that the next-in-rank promotion was based on the accomplishments of each personnel in their contributions to the programs of the regional office.

“We would not only give premium to seniority and number of year and the mandatory requirements but also to their contributions in the performance of their duties,” Aplasca added.

Police Supt. Chitadel C. Gaoiran, chief of the PRO4A public information office, disclosed that all newly-promoted police officers went through a series of meticulous screening and deliberations.

The promotion guidelines also include neuro-psychiatric examination, drug test and panel interview to select the qualified officers to fill up the vacancies for the next higher ranks.

The event was capped by the traditional police donning and pinning of ranks which were conducted simultaneously in the five Calabarzon provinces.

Considered as a solemn occasion when the newly-promoted cops took their avowed duties and responsibilities with their new ranks, the traditional rites were however interrupted with cheers and applause by their families, friends, loved ones and fellow cops. (PNA)
