1 dead, 2 injured in QC fire

1 woman died and 2 men were injured during a fire at  No. 51 Tirona St., Brgy. Milagrosa in Quezon City last night.

The fatality was identified as Cynthia Valentino (66 years old) while the injured were Francisco Valentino (64 years old) who sustained 2nd degree burns on his both arms and Gerald Valentino (30 years old) who sustained burns on his upper and lower extremities. Both victims were sent to Quirino Memorial Hospital.

First alarm was raised around 6:06pm last night and was declared fire under control at 6:48pm, then fire out at 9:pm.

According to the Quezon City Fire District, the fire started from a 2-storey house owned by a certain Nestor Valentino, whose occupant at that time was identified as Irene Valentino.

Around 3 homes were scorched, affecting 3 families with the cost of damages estimated around Php 3,375,000.

20 firetrucks and 1 ambulance arrived at the scene.

The cause of fire is still under investigation. – Bernard Jaudian
