1 killed, 8 nabbed in Bulacan anti-drug ops

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — A drug pusher was killed while eight others were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Bulacan, Thursday.

Senior Superintendent Chito Bersaluna, acting Bulacan police director, identified the slain suspect as a certain Harold.

The suspect, together with a cohort, were entrapped in a drug sting in Barangay Agnaya, Plaridel town.

“The suspect fired his gun at apprehending operatives who retaliated and neutralized him while his cohort was able to escape,” Bersaluna said.

Investigators recovered 10 plastic sachets of suspected shabu and an Armscor 202 caliber .38 revolver from the suspect.

Meanwhile, eight other drug suspects were arrested in the cities of Malolos and Meycauayan, and the towns of Bulakan, San Rafael and Calumpit.

Bersaluna identified seven of the arrested suspects as George Eusebio, who surrendered under “Oplan Tokhang” and also included in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) watch list of Sto. Rosario, Malolos as pusher/user; Jerry Pagudar, also included in drug watch list of Marilao; Arnel Rubiano; Reynaldo Ruego; Ricky Ichon; Robert De Jesus; and George Canoy.

One of the suspects was still not identified.

Confiscated from them were several sachets of suspected shabu and marked money. (PNA)
