10-hr power cut to hit parts of Iloilo province

ILOILO CITY — A 10-hour power interruption will hit some areas in Iloilo province on Sunday, said the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

NGCP Visayas corporate communications and public affairs officer Michelle Visera said the power interruption is due to their annual maintenance activities of their 69 kV Sta. Barbara-Miag-ao line.

The power interruption will start at 7 a.m.

Power interruption will affect consumers connected to the Iloilo Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ILECO) I, particularly towns of Sta. Barbara, San Miguel, Oton, Tigbauan and Miag-ao.

Affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions, she said.

NGCP gave an assurance to exert all efforts to restore power earlier or as scheduled.

Consumers connected to the Iloilo Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ILECO) II from Pototan, Dumangas and Janiuay also experienced a nine-hour power interruption November 11 due to maintenance activities of Dingle Substation. (Cindy Ferrer/PNA)
