The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has reported the collection of 10,363 liters of oily water mixture during its offshore oil spill response operations.
As of March 28, a total of 131 sacks of oil-contaminated materials were gathered.
For the shoreline response, the PCG retrieved a total of 137 sacks of oil-contaminated materials.
Also collected were 3,781.5 sacks and 22 drums of waste which were collected from 13 affected barangays in Naujan, Bulalacao, and Pola, Oriental Mindoro between March 1 and March 28.
Different government agencies and international organizations, including the coast guards of Korea and Japan, have collaborated with the concerned agencies to aid in the ongoing oil spill response operations.
The sunken vessel (MT) Princess Empress submerged in the waters of Naujan town while transporting a substantial quantity of 800,000 liters of industrial fuel. -ag
