Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Administrator Arnell Ignacio arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Friday, Jan. 20, with 102 distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Kuwait.

Ignacio and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Undersecretary Hans Cacdac traveled to Kuwait on January 15 to speak with Kuwaiti officials about the safety and protection of OFWs.

The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Kuwait is tasked with facilitating the immediate repatriation of distressed OFWs.

Through effective coordination with the Kuwaiti government, the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait, and the MWO-Kuwait, the distressed OFWs’ exit visas and travel documents were immediately processed and issued.

Upon arrival at the airport, OWWA provided each repatriated OFW with P10,000.00 cash assistance.
