158 OFWs from Dubai, UAE return to PH

158 Overseas Filipino Workers from Dubai and the United Arab Emirates have been assisted by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to able to return to the Philippines. According to the DFA, the repatriated OFWs are mostly victims of illegal trafficking and recruiters who promised to give them work visas. The agency condemns this kind of abuse and deception. The DFA also reminded people who want to work overseas to make sure that their employment documents are in order before leaving the country. A lot of people try their luck by using travel or visit visas to look for jobs abroad. Around 4,800 Filipinos have been repatriated by the government since January of this year.
