President Rodrigo Duterte left Malacañang on Thursday morning, June 30, as his term ended as the 16th President of the Philippines.
Incoming President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. paid a courtesy call on Duterte before the latter left his office, as part of the traditional transition of power between the two administrations.

Duterte was given departure honors before leaving the Palace which served as his home in the past six years. He took his final stroll in the grounds of Kalayaan and was given a 21-gun salute as a part of the traditional send-off for any outgoing head of state.

Marcos and Duterte both traveled to the National Museum from different presidential cars for Marcos’ oath-taking as the 17th President of the Republic of the Philippines.
Duterte will go back to his hometown, which he often tells the public, to continue his advocacy on war on illegal drugs and public service. – ag
