2 dead, 2 injured in explosion at DND arsenal

An explosion at the arsenal of the Department of National Defense (DND) in Bataan killed two workers and injured two more on Wednesday (May 26), authorities said.

The fatalities were identified as Ricardo Solomon and Marvin Tatel, while Macreldo Rodriguez and Allan Wisco were injured.

According to the report, the mixture of explosive chemicals used to make bullet primers being handled by Solomon and Tatel in a separate room exploded for an unknown cause.

The incident happened at Building 27 (Mixing Composition) inside the DND Arsenal in Brgy. Limay, Bataan.

Parts of Building 27 and some machinery were damaged in the explosion. -jlo
