2 LPAs to bring scattered rains over most parts of PH

MANILA — Two low-pressure areas (LPA) will bring scattered rains over most parts of the country on Sunday, the weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said they are monitoring an LPA, last eyed at 130 km. northwest of Basco, Batanes, while another LPA was spotted at about 815 km. east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will prevail over Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, western and central Visayas, and Mindanao.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds will blow over the northern and western sections of Luzon. Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
