2 weather systems bring rain showers over parts of PH

By Ma. Cristina Arayata | Philippine News Agency

MANILA – Rain showers are expected in some areas due to two weather systems – the shear line and the easterlies – affecting the country, the weather bureau said Thursday (Feb. 3).

In its 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced over the Bicol Region and the provinces of Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Marinduque, Aklan, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Samar due to the shear line affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon.

The same weather condition will prevail over the Davao Region, Caraga, and the province of Sarangani due to easterlies.

“Be alert against possible flooding caused by scattered rains,” PAGASA forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said.

Aurelio said the rest of the country may experience fair weather, with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will continue to prevail over Luzon and the eastern section of the Visayas and Mindanao.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)   -ag
