2 weather systems continue to bring rains over parts of PH

Two weather systems will continue to bring rains over some areas in the country, the weather bureau said on Thursday (Nov. 11).

The shear line affecting the eastern section of southern Luzon causes cloudy skies and thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin.

“Areas affected by the shear line will have light to moderate, to at times heavy rains,” weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced over Cagayan, Isabela, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Catanduanes, and Samar provinces.

The northeast monsoon will cause light rains over Aurora and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

On the other hand, Mindanao, Palawan and the rest of the Visayas will experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

“Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have fair weather with isolated rains,” Aurelio said.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over northern Luzon, and a gale warning has been issued over its seaboards. Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.

Aurelio, meanwhile, said there is no weather disturbance inside the Philippine area of responsibility. (PNA) – jlo
