2-year-old boy drowns in Chico River

A two-year-old boy from Lanao, Bontoc Ili was declared dead after drowning Saturday afternoon, Jan. 21, along Chico River in Bontoc, Mount Province.

According to the Municipal Incident Command System of the Municipality of Bontoc, the victim was found under water at around 4:17 p.m. by his uncle, a community volunteer responder.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR was performed to the victim at the incident site. However, he was declared dead upon the examination by the attending physician inside the ambulance.

The victim’s remains were brought to the Bontoc General Hospital.

As per investigation, the victim was with a 4-year-old male friend playing along the river bank of Paling.
