2021 GDP growth rate projection ng Pilipinas, ibinaba sa 5.3%

Ayon sa datos ng Moody’s Analytics, posibleng hindi maabot ng Pilipinas ang target nitong 6% hanggang 7% na paglago ng gross domestic product (GDP) ngayong taon.

Sa pagtaya ng Moody’s, posibleng sa susunod na taon pa bago makabalik ang ekonomiya ng Pilipinas sa pre-pandemic levels.

Nakaapekto umano sa pagtaya ng Moody’s ang pagdami ng COVID-19 daily cases noong buwan ng Abril na umabot sa mahigit 15,000, at ang pagkakabigo ng Pilipinas na mapigilan ang local transmission ng virus sa unang bahagi ng taon.

Dahil dito, ibinaba ng Moody’s sa 5.3% ang expected GDP growth rate ng bansa ngayong taon.

Ang Moody’s Analytics ay isang kumpanyang naghahatid ng siyasat at pananaliksik sa mga paksang pinansyal. 

Samantala, nananatiling positibo ang gobyerno na aangat ang ekonomiya ng bansa mula sa pandemyang dulot ng COVID-19 sa pagtatapos ng taon.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque sa kanyang press briefing noong Martes (Mayo 25), maaari pang maabot ang target na 6% hanggang 7% growth rate ng bansa ngayong taon.
