22 inmates bolt jail in Bacoor

BACOOR CITY, Cavite –Some 22 inmates bolted the city’s detention cell in Barangay Talaba at about 4:23 p.m. Friday, three of them were recaptured immediately.

The Bacoor City Police intensified their manhunt operations against 19 remaining escapees.

Supt. Vicente Cabatingan, city chief of police, said three escapees have been captured in less than an hour following the jail break, with 19 more to be scoured from their possible hiding places.

Initial investigation disclosed that the two detainees overpowered the jail guard on duty, who was opening the steel gate of the detention cell leading the other inmates to flee.

Cabatingan said elements of the Bacoor police are now conducting check points in all possible exit of the escapees to hunt down the escapees.

He has also ordered a full-dressed investigation into the jail break incident. (Dennis Abrina/PNA)
