TARLAC CITY, (PIA) — Up to 2,291 overseas and local careers will be up for grabs during this year’s Kalayaan 2018 Job and Business Fair in Tarlac City.

Anchored on the theme “Pagbabagong Ipinaglaban, Alay sa Masaganang Kinabukasan,” it will be held on June 12 at My Metro Town Mall.

“About 1,646 will be available for local employment from 11 participating companies from various industries,” Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Director Zenaida Angara-Campita said.

She added that there are 645 careers for overseas employment from four licensed recruitment agencies, as processed by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration.

Vacancies for local employment include Customer Service Representatives, Retail and Sales Agents, Collection Specialist, Production Operators, Mechanical Engineers, Factory Workers, Housekeepers, Security Guards, Sewers and Technical Support Representatives.

Overseas employment vacancies, on the other hand, include Teachers, Nurses, Sewers, Cleaners, Waiters/Waitresses, Baristas, Medical Technologists, Massage Therapists, and Radiologic Technologists.

“These figures are only preliminary as we have yet to receive the final job vacancy counts from our participating employers and licensed recruitment agencies. We are hoping that recent graduates both from college and those who just completed their senior high school take this opportunity to look for jobs they aspire for,” Angara-Campita said.

“I urge our jobseekers come fully prepared in proper attire and bring multiple copies of their resumes and other pre-employment documents and take this opportunity of the DOLE’s employment facilitation program in bringing these job vacancies closer to you in a conducive venue with our partnership with your local mall,” she furthered.

The Job and Business Fair will still be adopting the Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Concept of DOLE and Department of Trade and Industry.

TNK aims to achieve full employment and creation of jobs in Key Employment Generators specifically in the manufacturing, agri-business, construction, tourism, IT-BPM, transportation and logistics, and retail and trade. (Carlo Lorenzo J. Datu/PIA)
