238 new soldiers enlist in Philippine Army

CAMP GEN. CAPINPIN, Tanay, Rizal – Some 238 soldiers were enlisted in the Army Support Command (ASCOM) of the Philippine Army’s 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division (2ID) following their completion on Monday of the Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) at the Division Training School in this camp.

The new soldier graduates came from the ASCOM CSC Class 445 and 446-17.

Brigadier General Glorivine R. Dida, 2ID Assistant Division Commander, led the declaration of graduates followed by the army division adjutant Major Demier A. Bacasmas, who read the “Termination of Training and Enlistment Order.”

The newly enlisted soldiers were presented by Colonel Rogelio P. Percol, commanding officer of the 2ID Training School presented the newly enlisted soldiers, 120 of them came from Class 445-17 while 118 belong to Class 446-17.

Major General Elmer S. Pabale, Commander of the Army Support Command and the guest of honor Pililla Mayor Dan Masinsin, assisted by Brig. Gen. Dida, awarded the certificates and awards.

Pabale with Mayor Masinsin also pinned the ranks while Dida led the awards for the top three of the CSC classes.

By military tradition, the enlistment ceremony includes the pinning of the soldiers’ ranks and the symbolic turnover of firearms.
