25% income tax discount of medical frontliners OK’d

The proposed law granting discount on the income tax of medical frontline workers has been approved on final reading at the House of Representatives.

Under House Bill 8250, a 25-percent discount will be given to the said modern heroes in recognition of their contribution in the fight against COVID-19.

However, the discount will be limited to salary and professional fees related to their function as frontline workers. The benefit will not cover tax from their other sources of income such as businesses, investments, and other passive income unrelated to the response in treating COVID-19 patients. – PTV News
