26 nabbed in Bulacan drug bust

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — A total of 26 drug suspects, including a minor, were arrested Tuesday in separate anti-drug operations in this province.

A report submitted to Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., Bulacan police director, said the 12 suspects were nabbed in Plaridel; four in Bocaue; three in Sta. Maria; two in Meycauayan; two in Balagtas; one in Paombong; one in Bustos; and one in Baliwag.

Caramat identified the arrested suspects as George Reyes; Vergilio Viray; Allan Javier; Froilan Carlos; Leah Lucas; Marcelo Ibañez; Geraldo Ibañez; Antonio Benuya; Eduardo Fulu; Dennis Barsaga; Rogelio Javier;

Genzel Pascual; Edward Espinosa; Liezel Villarin; Alix Atambil; Jaime Villarin; Marlon Carpio; Rolando Sarmiento; Rodelio Dizon; Jerson Reyes; Harold Correa; John Edrich Roxas; Apple Platon; Raymond Anteria; Manuel Platon and a 17-year-old female student.

A total of  55 pieces of small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride; three packs of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops weighing 243 grams; firearm and ammunition; buy-bust money and drug paraphernalia were confiscated during the conduct of the one-day buy-bust operations.

The arrested suspects and seized pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office for appropriate examination while criminal complaints for violation of Republic Act 9165 against the suspects are being prepared for filing in court against them. (Manny Balbin/PNA)
