26 senatorial bets file COC on 3rd day

MANILA — A total of 26 senatorial candidates have filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COC) on the third day of the five-day filing period at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) main office in Manila.

Director Frances Aguindadao-Arabe, of the Education and Information Department (EID), said the total number of senatorial aspirants is now 63 since the start of the filing period last October 11.

Among them are reelectionist Senators Cynthia Villar, Grace Poe and Joseph Victor Ejercito.

Former senator Lito Lapid and Reps. Zajid Mangudadatu (of Maguindanao) and Gary Alejano Alejano (Magdalo Party-List) and Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go also filed their COCs.

The poll official also reported that 40 party-list groups have submitted their COCs on Monday, bringing to 70 the total number of organizations that have filed since Thursday last week.
