2nd Indonesian Food and Beverage Expo opens in Davao

DAVAO CITY–The 2nd Indonesian Food and Beverage Expo 2018 opened at the Abreeza Mall here Thursday with 18 Indonesian and 40 Filipino businessmen joining the exhibit and business matching sessions.

Indonesian consul general Berlian Napitupulu said the exhibition features for the first time the business-to-business matching this year.

“We wanted to have better exposure of the products by holding the exhibit in the mall so that people will have easy access,” Napitupulu said, adding he hopes that business deals will increase compared to previous year’s exhibition.

Napitupulu said the 2017 exposition generated USD112,000, while last year’s manufacturing expo generated USD2.9 million.

Among the products that are also on display are coffee, tea, biscuits, noodles, juices, cassava and tapioca flour, organic coconut sugar, healthcare beverage and other agri products.

Most of the exhibitors, Napitupulu said, belong to the biggest processed agricultural product producers in Indonesia.

“That is why we encouraged them to come and participate in the Expo so that there will be a collaboration between the businessmen in Mindanao,” he said.

“When there is joint venture the volume will also be larger and the impact will be more beneficial for the people,” he said. (Digna D. Banzon/PNA)
