3 drug suspects killed in Cebu shootout

CEBU CITY — Three suspected drug pushers were killed in a shootout with authorities in Talisay City early Wednesday morning.

Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) director, Senior Supt. Manuel Abrugena, said the three fatalities were known drug pushers in Barangay Tabunok of said city.

Abrugena identified the three high-level targets as Norberto Larigo, Ryan Mana-ay, and Clifford Garcia Rabago, who all died after engaging arresting officers in a gun battle at past 4 a.m.

Abrugena said the suspects were really preparing for a firefight as authorities received information that prior to the anti-drug operation, the three have reportedly bought handguns in an anticipation of a raid.

He said they also received reports that the suspects were also planning to ambush some personnel of the Talisay City Police Station.
