3 gangsters arrested in Cagayan kidnapping

TUGUEGARAO CITY — Three suspected gang members, who allegedly kidnapped a six-year-old boy, were indicted on Monday for kidnapping with serious illegal detention after their arrest, police said.

Chief Supt. Warren Tolito, Cagayan police director, identified the suspects as Junjun Paragas, Manuel Orpilla and Noel Villaroza.

They were arrested due to a tip from the wife of Paragas himself.

Another member, Eugene Alluvida alias Ujing of Baculod, Alcala, Cagayan, remains at large after eluding pursuing policemen.

The suspects were tagged as the kidnappers of six-year-old Sean of Sitio Pagasa, Sampaguita in Solana, Cagayan.

Beran was snatched on March 14 but was left in front of the provincial capitol on March 16 after the suspects sensed they are being tracked down by PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group.

In a press conference Tuesday, the victim positively identified the suspects as the abductors.

Chief Supt. Jose Mario Espino, Cagayan Valley regional police director, said the arrest came after Paragas’ wife, aunt of the victim, became suspicious of her husband’s vices.

She intruded into the mobile phone of her resting husband and found photographs and text messages about the kidnapping. (Bill Visaya/PNA)
