3 killed, 11 arrested in Bulacan anti-drug ops

CAMP GEN. ALEJO S. SANTOS, City of Malolos, Bulacan — Three drug suspects were killed while 11 others were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations of the Bulacan police Thursday and early morning  of Friday.

Superintendent Chito G. Bersaluna, acting Bulacan provincial director, identified the fatalities as alias “Bino” from San Rafael;  alias “Jessie” from Pulilan; and Sonny Boy Gabagat, 32,  a resident of Barangay Malhacan, Meycauayan City, who was included in the drug watch list.

“Investigation showed the suspects fired their guns toward the drug operatives when they sensed that they were dealing with an undercover agent,  leaving the police officers with no choice but to defend themselves which resulted in their death,” Bersaluna said.

Meanwhile, the 11 other suspects were arrested in the towns of Pandi, Paombong, Calumpit, Sta. Maria, Norzagaray, and Guiguinto.

They were identified as Wilbert Jimenez; Arwin Kier Siapco; Jessie Perez ; Gereneo Mariano ; Paul Alexander Albo; Jerome Evangelista; Alejandro Lee; Alvin Uy; Michael Granada; Michael Carating ; and a 17-year-old child in conflict with the law.

The arrested suspects and seized pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office for appropriate examination pending the filing of criminal complaints against them in court. (Manny Balbin/PNA)
