3 killed in 6.1-magnitude quake in S. Iran

TEHRAN — At least three people were killed and 19 others wounded in a 6.1-magnitude earthquake that struck Iran’s southern Hormozgan province early on Saturday, July 2, the official IRNA news agency reported.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located around the port city of Bandar Khamir near the Gulf, and houses were destroyed or partially damaged in the affected villages, the IRNA added. – gb
