3 policemen fired after killing Grade 11 teenager during Oplan Galugad

Three police officers were fired after the involvement in the killing of a 17-year-old boy named Kian Loyd Delos Santos, who was shot dead in an ‘Oplan Galugad’ operation in Caloocan City on Wednesday.

According to the police, Delos Santos was the first one to initiate actions against the policemen, wherein he immediately pulled the gun and started shooting when he saw the police – causing them to fire back. This resulted to his death while his body was later on found in a nearby river.

In the released CCTV footage, the 2 policemen were already carrying the victim to where his body was found.

Meanwhile, following the statement of the witnesses, the police beat the teenager before they handed the gun and ordered him to run while based on the spot report, the police retrieved a .45 calibre and 2 sachet of shabu from the victim.

According to NCR Police Officer Director Oscar Albayalde, he already ordered the Regional investigation Division to associate with the Internal Affairs Services for the initial investigation.

Also, he instructed the District Director to ensure the safety of the victim’s family.

His mother, Lorenza, an OFW for 3 years went back home after receiving the report of killing her son.

Both parents, Saldy and Lorenza Delos Santos denied that their son was a drug user and seeking justice for their son, saying, “Hindi po drug addict yung anak ko.”

“Napakabuti po kasi niya eh… Hindi po masama ang anak ko. Ang dami naman pong taong nagmamahal sa anak ko eh, hindi po siya yun,” she added.

She even called the attention of President Rodrigo Duterte for their son’s justice, “Nananawagan po ako sa Pangulong Duterte, please naman po help… Sana po magkaroon ng hustisya para maniwala po ako sa kampanya niyo na hinuhuli niyo at pinapatay yung mga totoong drug addict.” | (Tina Joyce Laceda – PTV)
