ZAMBOANGA CITY – Some 366 new policemen have graduated from a two-month rigid Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC) in this city, an official said Wednesday.
Chief Supt. Edwin de Ocampo, deputy regional director for administration, said the graduation was held at Camp Col. Romeo Abendan that houses the Police Regional Office 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) headquarters here on Tuesday.
De Ocampo said the BISOC, which is considered as the last phase of training for new policemen prior to their assignment to the different field units, aims to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge as they start their police service.
He said the 366 BISOC graduates will be assigned to Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) and different Provincial Mobile Force Battalions (PMFB). Of the number, 269 are policemen while the remaining 97 are policewomen.
The RMFB and PMFB serve as the maneuver forces of PRO-9, covering the cities of Zamboanga and Isabela City and the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Norte, and Zamboanga del Sur. (Teofilo Garcia, Jr/PNA)
