397 local officials to face raps due to SAP anomalies

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has vowed not to tolerate any local officials pocketing the Social Amelioration Program fund.

According to DILG Secretary Eduardo Año, around 397 barangay and local government officials will be facing charges due to anomalies surrounding the SAP distribution while 266 officials are under investigation.

More corrupt local officials are expected to face raps in the next few days with the ongoing investigation by the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG).
