Newly appointed Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Dave Gomez affirmed his commitment to promoting the programs and policies of the administration, noting that there will be no room for politics under his leadership.
Gomez made the statement as he formally took oath of office before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin at Malacañang on Friday.
“I am grateful to the President (Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.) for the trust and confidence, and I intend to repay that trust with my 100% commitment and focus on this role,” the new PCO chief said in a message.
“My role as PCO secretary will be to communicate and socialize the programs and policies of the President, minus the politics. This is what I call my 3Ps Minus One,” Gomez told reporters about his communications strategy.
He also stressed that he would continue to advance transparency in government, safeguard press freedom and free speech, as well as support digital transformation under the Bagong Pilipinas agenda of the President.
“Access to information is not a privilege—it’s a cornerstone of accountability and public trust,” he added.
“I see the PCO as taking an active role in expanding the digital footprint of the administration,” he said. “We intend to do this by advancing digital transformation within the PCO.”

Meanwhile, Gomez thanked former PCO secretary Jay Ruiz for his service and acknowledged his contributions to the agency.
In a press briefing Thursday, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro announced that Ruiz will be transferred to the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) as one board of directors.
