4.3-magnitude quake hits waters off Balut Island

A 4.3-magnitude earthquake hit waters off Balut Island, Davao Occidental Thursday night, Jan. 19, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology (Phivolcs) reported.

The tectonic tremor was an aftershock of the 7.0-magnitude quake that jolted Davao Occidental on Wednesday.

The quake had a depth of 31 kilometers (km) and hit 326 km southeast of Balut Island at 8:29 p.m.

Damages and aftershocks are not expected.
