4.4-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur

A 4.4-magnitude quake hit Barobo, Surigao del Sur Sunday noon, July 17, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The quake, which was tectonic in origin, struck nine kilometers (km) northeast of Barobo at 12:04 p.m.

The tremor had a depth of 11 km.

Intensity IV was felt in Rosario, Agusan del Sur.

No damages were reported. Aftershocks are not expected.
