4.7 magnitude quake jolts Ilocos Norte

LAOAG CITY — A magnitude 4.7-earthquake rattled Ilocos Norte residents at 5:12 p.m. Wednesday, said State Seismologists.

With epicenter located at five kilometers southeast of Marcos, Ilocos Norte, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake was tectonic in origin with a depth of 46 kilometers.

Intensity 4 was also felt in the towns of Paoay and Pasuquin, Intensity 3 in Laoag and in neighboring town of Sinait, Ilocos Sur; and Intensity 2 in Vigan City and in Claveria, Cagayan.
