4.8-magnitude quake hits Romblon town; aftershocks expected

A 4.8-magnitude earthquake hit Romblon town on Saturday morning, May 20, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The tectonic quake, which had a depth of four kilometers (km) hit 14 km southwest of Odiongan town at 8:40 a.m.

Phivolcs said damages and aftershocks are expected.

Meanwhile, Intensity V was also felt in Odiongan.

Instrumental Intensities II was recorded in Malay, Aklan and Pandan, Antique.

Instrumental Intensity I was logged in Ibagay and Malinao in Aklan.
