Superintendent Mariano Rodriguez, in his report to PRO2 Regional Director Chief Superintendent Jose Mario M. Espino, said that at about 11:30 p.m., joint personnel of 2nd Isabela Provincial Mobile Force Company and San Agustin Police Station, flagged down a blue Isuzu dump truck bearing plate number FXC 546, boarded with more or less 1,924 board feet of common hardwood lumbers during the conduct of checkpoint at Purok 7, Barangay Mapalad in the said town.

Arrested were Randy R. Cariaga, 30 years old; Jorlan M. Makahilig, 21 years old; Lolly Boy R. Mariano, 26 years old; all residents of Barangay Fugu, Jones, Isabela and Rolly T. Balanon, 42 years old and a resident of Barangay Dalibubun, Jones, Isabela.

The four failed to present pertinent documents to transport the said lumbers. A case of violation of PD No. 705 was filed against the suspects while the confiscated lumbers where yet to be turned over to the proper authorities.

Espino commended the operating team for another operational accomplishment on the implementation of environmental protection laws. “Let us help our government to preserve our environment and natural resources for the future generation,” he said.

The police official also urged the public to continuously support the PNP’s campaign on Anti-Criminality to thwart the illegal activities of lawless elements. (PR/PNA)
