4 OVP staff test positive for COVID-19, VP Robredo tests negative

Four staff of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) while Vice President Leni Robredo’s test turned out negative.

According to OVP Spokesman Barry Gutierrez, they immediately suspended their operation and had their personnel undergo testing including VP Robredo after one staff tested positive for COVID-19 weeks ago.

“VP Leni tested negative for COVID-19 but three additional staffers tested positive. The office has already started contact tracing procedures to identify all those who have interacted with the four staffers that tested positive.”

He also stated that the OVP’s operations will be temporarily suspended to give way for the disinfection of their office.

“Now that a handful of staffers have actually tested positive for the virus, and while we will take every precaution to protect the rest of our staff, our commitment to continue our work to support our nation’s COVID-19 response efforts remains firm and undimmed.”
