CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — A total of 40 food processors in Northern Mindanao are expected to exhibit their products in the “Tinagboan” Food Festival 2019 to be held at the Limketkai Rotunda here on August 2-4.

Event convenor and Vjandep Pastel of Camiguin owner, Dr. Viel Jose, said the food festival, organized by the Food Processors Association of Northern Mindanao (Fopanormin), aims to showcase local food products that every tourist wants to bring home as tinagboan (a gift brought home from someone’s travel).

In a press conference on Thursday, Fopanormin president Nenita Tan underscored the organization’s role in helping small food processors improve and sell their products.

“Whether as an association or as individual companies, we were able to share inputs with each other our own business experiences,” Tan said.

She identified the local exhibitors as 4CS, Coycoy’s Lechon, AM Natures, BAPPCO, Best Friend Goodies, Bite Me Up, Bukidnon Milk, Darling Foods, Dulceta, Eagles Nest, Firestar, GAMA Foods, Happy Pulp, Highland Fresh, Hinam-is, J&P, Jojis D, Jokos, Mang Kiko, Mercedes Bakery, MJ Foods, Muron, Nutcracker, Padlas, Pilian, SLERS, SMEI, TGO Pine, VjANDEP, Fuentisfina Foods, Meraki, NM Foods, Palaña, VitaCee, Ato Kini, Evorganix, SIVAKO, Monday, YSU Marketing, Crunchy Time, and Dream Patisserie.

Tan said the annual Tinagboan food festival is the organization’s flagship project that aims to encourage local food innovation and connect food processors with government agencies, such as the departments of trade, and science and technology.

The 6th Tinagboan Food Festival is anchored on the theme “Fiesta Carnival, Celebrate Food for Life: Where food, culture and people converge together to celebrate life in vibrant colors”.
