Around 116.68% of its target beneficiaries or 147,421 have been given their initial shot.

“We were able to do it in just two weeks from the SONA [State of the Nation Address], and we are three weeks ahead of the schedule, kasi ang target po namin noon ay Aug. 31,” San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora said in the Aug. 10 Palace briefing.

Zamora said they will continue their vaccination rollout to A4 individuals who are not residents of the city, as long as they have registered online.

The rollout will also coincide with the distribution of cash assistance amid the current enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Meanwhile, Pateros Mayor Miguel Ponce III said they are aiming to achieve herd immunity this month. As of Aug. 9, a total of 51,732 have been given their first dose, while 30,846 have completed their doses.

“Ito ay tinaasan na namin na target, from 70%, ginawa na po naming 80% ito… Ngayon ang tao po hindi na pinipilit magpabakuna, sila na po ang eager na eager na lumapit sa atin,” Ponce said.

As for other NCR cities, Manila City also surpassed its 800,000 population target for population protection, with 946,734 first dose recipients and 667,148 second dose recipients.

Mandaluyong City has vaccinated 31,000 of their target senior citizen population.
