BACOLOD CITY —The first three days of the “Oplan Tokhang” relaunch led to the surrender of 47 drug personalities in this city, records of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) showed Friday.
Data released showed the surrenderers from January 29 to 31 included 20 street level and one high-value target personalities while 26 newly-identified ones yielded, based on the Tokhang Reboot operations directed by the Police Regional Office-6.
Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, Bacolod police officer-in-charge, said Tokhang teams were being deployed to visit the homes of drug personalities to encourage them to surrender.
The relaunched “Tokhang” targets suspects included in the watchlist of the police stations while “Tokhang Reboot” aims to reach newly-identified personalities during the visits.
Citizens can provide information on drug personalities through the “Tokhang” drop boxes in police stations.
Under the new guidelines of “Oplan Tokhang” relaunched on January 29, “Tokhang” teams cannot conduct operations at night and during weekends.
Earlier, BCPO also reported that its personnel arrested 74 suspects and seized almost PHP756,000 worth of illegal drugs since the resumption of the police’s war on drugs operations last December 23.
The arrests were the result of 47 operations where 129 cases had been filed against the suspects.
During the period, a total of PHP755, 804.85 worth of drugs was seized, including 75.438 grams of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and 40.710 grams of marijuana. (PNA)
