5.0-magnitude quake hits 53 km NNE of Miyako, Japan: USGS

HONG KONG – An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted 53 km NNE of Miyako, Japan at 05:32:00 GMT on Saturday (Oct. 9), the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 61.6 km, was initially determined to be at 40.0948 degrees north latitude and 142.1566 degrees east longitude. (Xinhua) – bny
