5.6-magnitude quake hits Davao del Sur

A magnitude 5.6 earthquake jolted Davao del Sur on Monday afternoon, Aug. 15, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The tectonic quake hit 11 kilometers (km) northwest of Magsaysay, Davao del Sur at 4:23 p.m., with a depth of 6 km.

The Phivolcs said damages and aftershocks are expected.
