500K Sinovac vaccines to arrive today

The Philippines is awaiting the arrival of 500,000 additional procured Sinovac vaccines from China today (April 22).

The vaccines are expected to arrive at 5:55 p.m. at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). This is the fifth time that the country will receive an additional supply of CoronaVac from China.

One million donated doses of CoronaVac arrived on February 28 and March 24, followed by 1.5 million purchased million doses that were separated into three deliveries in the month of April.  

Meanwhile, Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said that as of April 21, 6:00 p.m., the country has administered 1,612,420 Covid-19 vaccines. – Report from Mela Lesmoras/NGS-jlo
