53.7% of Filipinos ‘disapprove’ of gov’t’s COVID-19 response, survey reveals


More than 50% of Filipinos “disapprove” of government’s Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) response, according to a survey.

Based on the survey results of Asian Studies Centre, 53.7% of Filipinos oppose government strides against the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the highest among the Southeast Asian countries polled by the group.

The survey also shows that 20.9% of Filipino respondents are “neutral” on the matter while 19.4% “approve” government’s response.

Meanwhile, 72.2% of Filipinos believe that more scientists and doctors must contribute to the response and that the government must listen to them and the science. Likewise, 33.3% trusts in government giving better financial aid to those gravely affected by the global health crisis. – PTV News
