This undertaking is in line with the Three-Pronged Approach of holistic anti-drug strategy adopted by the PDEA (Supply Reduction, Demand Reduction and Harm Reduction) as the national anti-drug campaign in building drug resistant communities.
As of July 31, 2019, a total of two hundred fifty-one (251) Barangays are already declared as “DRUG-CLEARED” by the Committee. Out of the fifty-five (55) Barangay who applied for the Drug Clearing Program this month of August, only fifty-three (53) Barangays has been declared as “Drug-Cleared”. Meanwhile, two Barangays has failed to comply with the requirements set by the Dangerous Drugs Board.
This newly declared fifty-three (53) drug-cleared Barangays will be added to the two hundred and fifty-one (251) previously cleared Barangays, making it a total of three hundred and four (304) drug-cleared Barangays for the period of January to August of 2019.
As set forth in Section 11 of DDB Regulation No. 8, series of 2017, after conducting drug-clearing operations in the barangay, the oversight committee will issue the drug-cleared certification of a barangay that had complied with the parameters set by the board regulation.
The local chief executive or the ADAC chairman will then attest to the certification made by the local chief of police and validated by the PDEA Regional Director.
