GENERAL SANTOS CITY — The Police Regional Office (PRO) 12 (Soccsksargen) has deployed some 584 newly-hired police personnel to various units in the region to undergo a five-month field training.
Col. Oliver Enmodias, PRO-12 deputy regional director for operations, said Friday the field training is among the preparatory mechanisms prior to the formal assignment of new personnel to local police stations and offices.
Enmodias said the trainees, who carry the rank of patrolman/patrolwoman, are composed of 436 males and 148 females who have just completed their six-months basic training at the PRO-12’s Regional Training School.
Enmodias said the field training program, which started last Wednesday, covers three operational phases: patrol, investigation and traffic.
“They will participate in actual police operations and apply what they learned during the basic training,” he said in a statement.
A report released by PRO-12 said 143 trainees were assigned to this city, 117 each to Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato and North Cotabato, and 90 to Sarangani.
Five of the city’s eight police stations received 24 to 35 trainees while the other units in Soccsksargen got 32 to 50 each.
Enmodias advised the trainees to continue to work hard, be attentive and vigilant at all times, especially during patrolling, and always stay safe.
“Anyone of you who will be caught committing any wrongdoing will be dealt with appropriately and face administrative charges,” he added.
