Over 5k cops deployed for ‘Undas’ in MM

MANILA — Some 5,355 policemen would be deployed to secure Metro Manila during the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said Tuesday.

NCRPO head Director Oscar Albayalde said the police officers would be assisted by barangay tanods, security guards, and volunteers totaling to 19,289 personnel.

“Coordination has been made with local government units and other government agencies. Security patrols will be conducted in residential areas. We will also establish assistance hubs in all ports, bus terminals, churches, vital installations and other places of convergence identified by our field commanders,” Albayalde said.

Skeletal deployment started on October 30 while full deployment is expected to be completed on October 31. Police units will be on duty until Nov. 2. (Priam Nepomuceno/PNA)
