7 nabbed, over P650-K worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY — Some seven persons were arrested while PHP656,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized in separate police operations in the past three days in Bacolod and its two neighboring cities in Negros Occidental.

In Silay City, anti-drug operatives arrested Orlando Milaran, 36, and his companion, Benjie Gonzales, 38, in a drug-bust operation at around 9 p.m. Saturday in Bangga Alang-alang? Barangay Lantad.

Milaran, who is on the drug list, and Gonzales, a newly-identified drug personality, sold PHP10,000 worth of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer.

Both suspects also yielded five sachets of the prohibited substance valued at PHP380,000 and a .45-caliber replica pistol with one live ammunition and two pieces of .22-caliber bullets, among others.

On Thursday, Alfrederick Diaz, 27, was also arrested by the Silay City Drug Enforcement Unit personnel in a buy-bust where he was found in possession of 10 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP120,000.

The operation against Diaz, resident of Purok Kamansi, Bacolod City, took place at around 5 p.m. in Phase 3, Buenavista Subdivision, Barangay Guinhalaran.

In the adjacent Talisay City, operatives confiscated from a certain Ruel Palma and Roberto Deocadiz suspected shabu worth PHP60,000 following a buy-bust operation in Purok Mainuswagon, Barangay Bubog at around 4:20 p.m. on Saturday.

Palma, 52, yielded seven small sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia and PHP600 in cash while Deocadiz, 28, was found in possession of a big sachet of the same prohibited substance and some drug paraphernalia.

In Bacolod City, Jerry Villamor was arrested during a buy-bust in Barangay around 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Operatives of Police Station 1 seized from the suspect 11 small sachets of suspected shabu weighing 1.5 grams valued at PHP20,000.

On Friday, Joan Mifa also known as “Inday Zabala,” yielded about six grams of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation at around 2 a.m. in Purok 4, Magsungay, Barangay Singcang-Aiport.
