8 PSG personnel test positive for COVID-19

The Presidential Security Group (PSG) assured President Rodrigo Duterte remains safe from COVID-19 after some PSG personnel tested positive for the said disease.

PSG Commander Col. Jesus Durante III disclosed eight of their personnel who contracted the disease were assigned at the Office of the Executive Secretary.

Durante said ES Salvador Medialdea also tested negative for COVID-19 and that his security personnel have already been changed.

“Regularly, we’re conducting, [rapid tests] and if found positive then PCR tests. Well, for now, I have directed my staff to change all of the security personnel of the Executive Secretary. So papalitan ko lahat iyon for the meantime (I will change them all for the meantime),” he stated.

The PSG ensured it continues to implement strict health protocols within its units and dependents to ensure the safety of everyone, especially the Chief Executive. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
